Twisting, freeflowing streams and lush vegetation create an ambiance of an oasis among the mature riverbottom cottonwoods.

Immersed in a mature riparian grove of cottonwood trees, surrounded by braided streams and expansive pond, this project sought to update the landscape around an existing log home.

Existing flagstone was repurposed for outdoor terraces and walkways, and embellished with thick tufts of moss. Elevated boardwalks and decomposed granite pathways offer contextually appropriate connections among spaces, and invite easy, smooth transitions. 

In a transformation that blended traditional and contemporary forms and materials, our team emphasized the lush, moist ecosystem and added the brightness of diverse perennials.
